Due to continuing expansion, my client is seeking a motivated, qualified Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their existing team in the Limerick area. The successful candidate will have exposure to and assist in the delivery of a wide variety of projects across multiple industry sectors including residential, commercial, pharma, industrial, educational and more. Reporting to the Associate Director - Surveying, the successful Quantity Surveyor will assist in the delivery of large-scale projects. Working to support the effective management of project costs and ensuring accurate financial control, this is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to develop their career in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
Duties:
- Assist the Associate Director – Surveying, in ensuring successful delivery of all project commercial aspects
- Assist in procurement, appointment and management of specialist contracts (subcontracts & suppliers) through to final account agreement
- Assist in preparing accurate monthly progress accounts
- Support the preparation and assessment of interim and final valuations for progress payments
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and cost overruns
- Assist the pre-construction team in the delivery of tenders on occasion
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with project teams
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations etc
- Monitoring of contra charges and notification to sub-contractors
- Sub-contractor re-measurement, interim and final account payments
- Final account preparations at the end of the project
- Cost monitoring and reporting and attending monthly cost reporting meetings
- Cashflow forecasting for projects and issuing monthly reports to accounts
- Planning and performing other duties and projects as assigned
- Ad-hoc reporting/requests when required by direct line manager
Requirements:
- A Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying essential
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a similar role with a main contractor / subcontractor essential
- Experience in residential sector is preferable
- Excellent IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook. Working knowledge of Buildsoft/Cubit/Bluebeam preferred but not essential as training will be provided
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral) with an ability to build excellent working relationships with a wide range of people
