Job summary

ALS Life Sciences Limited is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the on-site quality team in Clonmel, Ireland. You will ensure compliance with the QMS, ISO 17025, INAB, DAFM, DAERA, RSA and client requirements while driving improvements.

You will manage external and internal audits, track CAPAs, and maintain the eQMS, calibration records and change controls to uphold the highest quality standards across microbiology and chemistry laboratories.

Qualifications

• Hold a scientific degree and possess analytical skills for problem solving.
• Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO 17025 accreditation requirements and the ability to drive change within microbiology and chemistry laboratories.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience controlling and maintaining a Quality Management System in a laboratory/technical environment.
• Internal auditing experience with the ability to manage non-conforming work and improvement.
• The ability to work on your own and manage projects to tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to influence opinion and set standards.
• Understanding of the Food Industry and clients’ testing needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the existing Quality team.
• Maintain all aspects of quality on site including ISO 17025 accreditation and other certification and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the electronic quality management system (eQMS) including performance monitoring.
• Coordinate and lead actions from anomalies, complaints, OOS and audits within timelines.
• Take ownership of external audits, reporting, follow-ups and close-out of findings.
• Conduct internal audits and schedule them on site per procedures and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Oversee change control and risk assessment processes and ensure timelines.
• Organise Quality Management System Reviews annually and implement action plans.
• Support the Laboratory Team in equipment management and calibration scheduling.
• Review procedures for continuous improvement and share information with Management monthly.
