Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment is assisting a well-established accountancy practice in Waterford in recruiting a Qualified Accountant. You will oversee a portfolio of clients, supervise accounts preparation, and deliver financial reporting and compliance from start to finish, with direct client exposure and opportunities to advise on business issues.

You will mentor junior staff, review work, and contribute to ongoing development of the team.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CPA.
• Minimum 2 years PQE in Irish accounting practice.
• Strong experience in accounts preparation and financial statements.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients and meeting deadlines.
• Solid knowledge of FRS 102 and VAT/RCT compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across sectors and handle day-to-day accounting.
• Build relationships with clients and communicate reporting deadlines.
• Prepare and review annual accounts and financial statements.
• Complete files from start to finish within deadlines.
• Prepare audit-exempt financial statements and working papers.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts and month-end close.
• Submit VAT and RCT returns by deadlines.
• Review work of junior staff and provide feedback.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
