Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment is helping a well-established accounting firm in Cavan hire a Qualified Accountant. This 34-hour week (4 days) position offers diverse client work, progression within a reputable practice, and a supportive environment.

You will manage client portfolios, prepare sole trader, partnership and company accounts, handle income and corporation tax returns, meet clients, mentor junior staff and report to partners.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification from a registered accountancy body.
• Experience supervising junior team members.
• Motivated with ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Confident, articulate and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.
• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies.
• Prepare income tax and corporation tax returns.
• Provide financial information and advice to clients.
• Meet with clients and develop strong relationships.
• Assist clients in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.

Our client is a well-established firm of accountants based in Cavan.

Due to continued expansion and progression within the firm they are seeking a Qualified Accountant to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to work with a dynamic and innovative firm with a diverse client base.

This job is 4 days a week based on a 34-hour working week.

The role will suit an individual that is ambitious, and business focused and looking to advance their career in a reputable accountancy practice.

The responsibilities of the role include:

• Manage a portfolio of clients across a number of industry sectors.
• Preparation of sole trader, partnership and company accounts.
• Preparation of income tax and corporation tax returns.
• Provide financial information and advice.
• Meeting with clients.
• Develop strong client relationships.
• Assisting clients meet their regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Manage and mentor junior team members.
• Reporting directly to partners.

Applicants should have:

• A professional qualification from one of the registered accountancy bodies.
• Practice experience in supervising junior team members.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work to strict deadlines.
• Confident and articulate.
• Good technical skills.
• Positive can-do attitude and a team player.
