Dromoland Castle Resort, one of Ireland's most prestigious five-star hotels, has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, organised and ambitious individual to join our Purchasing Department.

The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day purchasing function, supporting key operational tasks and projects across the Resort. Key Responsibilities:
- Researching suppliers and negotiating the best value in terms of price, quality, and service.
- Tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Entering and maintaining accurate order information within internal purchasing systems.
- Monitoring Procure Wizard orders from departments and adjusting quantities or sourcing alternative products where required.
- Sourcing new products and obtaining competitive quotations from suppliers.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
- Monitoring market price fluctuations and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintaining appropriate stock levels while considering seasonal business requirements.
- Processing supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently.
- Reconciling supplier statements and following up on outstanding invoices and credits.
- Assisting with month-end procedures and payment processing.
- Ensuring all invoices are matched to delivery documentation and resolving discrepancies.
- Completing product price comparisons and supporting product sourcing initiatives.
- Monitoring deliveries and shipments, reporting any delays that may impact service standards.
- Assisting with stock control procedures and stocktakes.
- Assisting with year-end audit requirements and ad hoc requests from the CFO.
- Maintaining knowledge of food, beverage, wine, spirit and soft drink products relevant to the business.
- Managing supplier and internal correspondence in a professional and timely manner.
- Supporting the continuous improvement of purchasing systems and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a purchasing, procurement, accounts payable or similar administrative role.
- Experience using software systems such as Opera and Procure Wizard.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Experience within hospitality or food and beverage purchasing would be an advantage.
