Job summary

CPL Group in Galway is seeking an experienced Projects & Sustainability Manager to lead cross-functional projects that drive environmental improvements and operational excellence.

You will partner with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to deliver CAPEX projects, embed sustainability into daily operations, and mentor teams on best practices, ensuring compliance with environmental standards. This role is based in Galway and offers a permanent, full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sustainability initiatives and environmental improvement programmes across the business.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage projects from concept through to implementation across multiple functions.
  • Oversee CAPEX projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Technical, and Health & Safety teams.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and environmental awareness.
  • Deliver training and guidance on sustainability best practices.
  • Support compliance with environmental standards, legislation, and certification requirements.
  • Drive waste reduction, process optimisation, and productivity improvements.

About the Opportunity

I am currently partnering with a leading manufacturing organisation in Galway that is seeking an experienced Projects & Sustainability Manager to join its team. This is a high-impact role that combines project management, sustainability leadership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will lead key business projects while driving environmental initiatives and supporting long-term sustainability goals across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead sustainability initiatives and environmental improvement programmes across the business.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and improve operational efficiency.

  • Oversee capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and environmental awareness.
  • Deliver training and guidance on sustainability best practices.

Essential Requirements

Desirable Experience

  • Experience leading sustainability, ESG, or environmental programmes.
  • CAPEX project management experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and AutoCAD.
  • Experience managing supplier and contractor relationships.
