Job summary

Focus Ireland is seeking a Project Worker for the Tenancy Support and Settlement Service in the Mid West (Limerick). The role provides support to individuals to sustain their tenancy in the community, delivering person-centred plans and community-based visits.

The position requires a degree in social care or CORU registration, extensive social care experience, strong child-protection understanding, and a full driving licence.

Qualifications

• A third level qualification in social care and/or CORU registration.
• Proven extensive experience in a Social Care setting.
• Strong understanding of Child Protection and Welfare responsibilities.
• Ability to deal with challenging behaviour.
• Willingness to develop professional skills via supervision.
• Own car and a full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Tenancy Support Service (TSS) team.
• Conduct needs assessments and develop, implement, and review individual support plans.
• Provide community-based and home-based support visits when appropriate.
• Manage a caseload requiring early intervention, crisis intervention, or settlement support.
• Support clients in sustaining tenancy and promoting stability.
• Build links with local services, housing providers, landlords and stakeholders.
• Work in line with child protection and welfare responsibilities.
• Deliver client-centred services promoting autonomy and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate client records and resources per Focus Ireland policies.
• Ensure compliance with policies including Child Protection, Confidentiality, Complaints, Health & Safety.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and other divisions; contribute to service development.
• Supervise volunteers and students when required and undertake additional duties.

The purpose of this role isTo provide support to individuals who require support to sustain their tenancy in the community. The aim of the service is to provide a package of support which will reduce the likelihood of a family or individual losing their tenancy

What you will do:

• Work as part of the Tenancy Support Service (TSS) teamwithin Focus Ireland.
• Conductneeds assessmentsfor referred clients and develop, implement, and review individual support/care plans.
• Provide community-based and home-based support visits where appropriate.
• Manage a caseload of clients requiring early intervention, crisis intervention, or settlement support.
• Support clients in sustaining their tenancy, promoting stability and addressing related support needs.
• Build and maintain effective links with local services, community groups, housing providers, landlords, and other stakeholders.
• Work in line with child protection and welfare responsibilities, responding appropriately to concerns.
• Deliver services using a client-centred approach, promoting autonomy, independence, and positive outcomes.
• Maintain accurate client records, statistics, reports, and resource materials in accordance with Focus Ireland policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Focus Ireland policies, including Child Protection, Confidentiality, Complaints, Health & Safety, and Personnel policies.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, Focus Ireland services, and other organisational divisions, contributing to service development, evaluation, and organisational objectives.
• Supervise volunteers, students, and support staff when required, and undertake any additional duties assigned by the Project Manager or Head of Service.

What you will need:

• A Third Level qualification at degree level in the area of social care i.e. youth work, social studies, addiction, psychology, etc and/or be a CORU registered Social Care Worker.
• Proven extensive experience working in a Social Care setting.
• Very good understanding of Child Protection and Welfare responsibilities, and appropriate responses to any concerns.
• Ability to deal with challenging behaviour.
• Willingness to develop professional skills as identified through supervision.
• Own car and have a full clean driving licence.
