Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor for a civil project based in Cork, Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for commercial management, interfacing with the site team and clients to optimise value and manage contractual issues.

Role requires professional qualification in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management and proven on-site experience on large-scale construction projects. On-site presence is required with opportunities for progression and development.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on medium to large construction projects.
• Strong time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise on contractual matters – general and project level.
• Process contractual claims and all associated records.
• Look for opportunities to maximise revenue and reduce cost; identify losses.
• Assist with project cash management.
• Advise and support with project correspondence.
• Negotiate and agree subcontractors; negotiate subcontract and suppliers’ prices and terms.
• Ensure final accounts are closed in a timely manner.
• Ensure monthly cost reports are prepared and submitted.
• Maintain risk registers, variation trackers and extension of time tracker sheets; include in monthly reports.
