Job summary

Fortivum, a Dublin-based engineering consultancy, seeks an experienced Project Planner / Scheduler to join a major European data centre project. You will develop, maintain and report on detailed programmes, ensuring visibility of progress, critical path and risks across design, procurement, construction and commissioning.

Work closely with project teams and contractors to ensure realistic, coordinated programmes that meet project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Project Planner, Scheduler or Project Controls Engineer on major construction or engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of critical-path methodology, programme logic and delay analysis.
  • Experience reviewing contractor programmes and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and reporting skills.
  • Data centre, mission-critical or high-tech construction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Manage programme logic, sequencing, dependencies and critical path.
  • Review contractor programmes and progress updates.
  • Produce weekly and monthly programme reports and dashboards.
  • Identify risks, delays and recovery opportunities.
  • Support change management and delay analysis.
  • Coordinate interfaces across disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate programme records and support project-controls processes.

Job description

Fortivum is a Dublin-based, client-side engineering consultancy delivering hyperscale and mission-critical data centre projects across Europe.

We provide Project Management, Construction Management, Cost Management and Design services across the full project lifecycle.

We are seeking an experienced Project Planner / Scheduler to join one of our major European data centre projects.

Role Overview

The Project Planner / Scheduler will develop, maintain and report on detailed project programmes, providing visibility of progress, critical path, key milestones, risks and recovery actions.

Working closely with project, design, construction, cost and contractor teams, you will help ensure programmes are realistic, coordinated and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Integrate design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities.
  • Manage programme logic, sequencing, dependencies and critical path.
  • Review and challenge contractor programmes and progress updates.
  • Produce weekly and monthly programme reports, dashboards and look-ahead schedules.
  • Identify programme risks, delays and opportunities for recovery.
  • Support change management, delay analysis and extension-of-time assessments.
  • Coordinate programme interfaces across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate programme records and support project-controls processes.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience as a Project Planner, Scheduler or Project Controls Engineer on major construction or engineering projects.
  • Experience across design, procurement, construction and commissioning programmes.
  • Strong understanding of critical-path methodology, programme logic and delay analysis.
  • Experience reviewing contractor programmes and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced project and construction environment.
  • Data centre, mission-critical or high-tech construction experience.
  • Client-side or consultancy experience.
  • Experience with schedule-risk analysis, earned value or claims support.
  • Commissioning, energisation or phased handover experience.
  • Spanish or other European language skills.
Location

The role will be based on a major European project, with specific location and working arrangements discussed during the recruitment process. Site attendance and travel will be required.
