Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager – Structures to join the delivery team on major energy infrastructure and data centre projects in West Dublin.

This is a key, site-based role with responsibility for the planning, coordination, programming and delivery of structural and structural steel packages within a large-scale, technically complex construction environment.

We are looking for a proactive Project Manager with a strong structural construction background who is confident taking ownership of programme, subcontractors, site coordination and overall package delivery.

As Project Manager – Structures, you will take responsibility for structural works from mobilisation through construction, installation and final handover.

You will work closely with engineering, construction, commercial, planning, design and H&S teams to ensure structural packages are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, programme and manage structural steel and associated structural works from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor detailed construction programmes and short-term look-ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate structural activities with the wider construction programme and other disciplines on site.
  • Manage structural steel contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist packages.
  • Monitor progress against programme, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate engineering and design information, procurement, fabrication, deliveries and site installation.
  • Lead site coordination meetings and provide clear programme and progress updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage RFIs, technical queries, design coordination issues and construction interfaces.
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, quality standards and project procedures.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health & safety, quality, productivity and programme performance.
  • Proactively identify project risks, constraints and potential issues before they impact delivery.
  • Drive structural packages through inspection, snagging, completion and handover.

The successful candidate will come from a strong structural construction background, ideally with significant experience delivering structural steel packages on major construction projects.

You should have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience managing structural and/or structural steel packages.
  • Demonstrable experience in project planning, scheduling and programme management.
  • A strong understanding of structural drawings, specifications, sequencing, fabrication and installation.
  • Experience with a contractor, structural contractor or specialist steelwork contractor would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong subcontractor management and site coordination experience.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Good commercial and programme awareness.
  • The ability to manage multiple work fronts and priorities within a fast-paced project environment.

We are particularly interested in someone who is proactive rather than reactive and takes genuine ownership of project delivery.

You will need to be comfortable identifying issues early, developing practical solutions and driving actions through to completion. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will coordinate closely with engineers, subcontractors, site teams, management and other project stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major energy and data centre construction programme in West Dublin, with responsibility for significant structural packages on technically challenging projects. Contact - maeve.curran@allsite.ie
