Job summary

Egis is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead road/highway projects in Ireland. Based in Dublin with travel to Cork, Limerick and Castlebar, you will supervise delivery, manage budgets and ensure quality while engaging clients and guiding your team.

You will apply sector standards and best practices and drive business growth through strategic proposals, all within a sustainability-focused consultancy environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred for senior roles.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent is required/advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise the execution of road/highway projects in Ireland.
  • Lead a high-performing project team with guidance and support.
  • Apply standards, regulations and best practices to planning and delivery.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of project deliverables and implement QC processes.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts and resource allocation for profitability.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the UK & Ireland Roads and Active Travel Director and clients.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth and participate in proposals and bids.

Job Description
  • Project Management: Supervise and oversee the execution of road / highway projects in Ireland, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract.
  • Team Management: Lead a high-performing team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure project success.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and apply this knowledge to project planning and delivery.
  • Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of project deliverables, and implement quality control processes to meet client expectations.
  • Financial Management: Manage project budgets, financial forecasts, and resource allocation to optimize project profitability.
  • Reporting: Provide regular project updates and reports to the UK & Ireland Roads and Active Travel Director and clients, demonstrating progress and achievements.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities for business growth, develop winning strategies, and actively participate in the proposal and bid process to secure new urban transport projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent recognised professional body.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, Active Travel or transport infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering infrastructure projects.
  • Strong business development skills with a history of winning and developing design and engineering work.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and experience in project budget management.
