Job summary

Egis Group in Ireland seeks a senior leader to head the Roads Transport activity in Ireland, driving development and sustainable profitability across projects.

You will supervise road/highway projects, build high-performing teams, and ensure compliance with contracts while applying up-to-date standards and client-focused delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant civil/roads experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Roads Transport activity in Ireland to ensure profitability.
  • Oversee execution of road/highway projects, on time and within budget.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing project team.
  • Maintain knowledge of standards, regulations and industry best practices.
  • Engage with clients to understand needs and provide tailored consultancy.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables and implement QA processes.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders for approvals.
  • Provide regular progress reports to Directors and clients.
  • Identify opportunities for business development and participate in bids.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Leadership: Lead and manage the Roads Transport activity in Ireland, ensuring development of the activity and sustainable profitability.

Project Sponsorship: Supervise and oversee the execution of road / highway projects in Ireland, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract.

Team Management: Build and lead a high-performing team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure project success.

Technical Expertise: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and apply this knowledge to project planning and delivery.

Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and requirements to provide tailored consultancy services.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of project deliverables, and implement quality control processes to meet client expectations.

Financial Management: Manage project budgets, financial forecasts, and resource allocation to optimize project profitability.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and regulatory bodies, to facilitate project approvals and compliance.

Reporting: Provide regular project updates and reports to the UK & Ireland Roads and Active Travel Director and clients, demonstrating progress and achievements.

Business Development: Identify opportunities for business growth, develop winning strategies, and actively participate in the proposal and bid process to secure new urban transport projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent recognised professional body.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, roads, or transport infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering infrastructure projects.
  • Strong business development skills with a history of winning and developing design and engineering work.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and experience in project budget management.
