Job summary

highr is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead civil engineering and water infrastructure projects across Ireland. You will oversee delivery from mobilisation through to handover, ensuring safety, programme, budget and quality targets are met.

The role requires extensive experience in Irish civil construction, knowledge of standards and regulatory requirements, and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil engineering and water infrastructure projects from mobilisation to handover.
• Take responsibility for programme, cost, quality, health & safety and project performance.
• Coordinate site teams including Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, RAMS, and project documentation.
• Monitor progress against milestones and identify risks with mitigation.
• Work with commercial team on costs, variations and contractual matters.
• Ensure accurate project records and reporting to senior management and client.
• Ensure compliance with Irish health, safety and environmental legislation.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of civil engineering and water infrastructure projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Irish civil construction, and a thorough understanding of the standards, contractual requirements and regulations associated with public infrastructure works.

This is a senior site/project-based position with responsibility for managing projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the successful delivery of civil engineering and water infrastructure projects from mobilisation through to handover.
• Take overall responsibility for programme, cost, quality, health & safety and project performance.
• Manage projects involving water mains, wastewater networks, drainage, pumping stations, treatment infrastructure and associated civil works.
• Manage site teams including Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate subcontractor procurement, appointments, sequencing and performance.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, technical submissions, RAMS and project documentation.
• Manage project programmes and monitor progress against key milestones.
• Identify programme, commercial and technical risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Work closely with the commercial team on project costs, variations, claims, valuations and contractual correspondence.
• Ensure accurate project records are maintained throughout the project.
• Oversee temporary works, traffic management, road opening requirements, utility coordination and permits where applicable.
• Manage testing, commissioning, snagging and project handover requirements.
• Chair project progress meetings and provide regular reports to senior management and the client.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant Irish health, safety and environmental legislation.
