Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Skidded Switchgear Solutions team in Ireland. You will lead electrical design and integration of modular skidded solutions for data centres and critical infrastructure, from bid stage through to installation.

Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will apply standards, prepare design documentation, review supplier offers, and support fabrication and site activities to ensure safe, cost-effective execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering (or building services).
• 1+ years of practical experience in electrical engineering.
• Fluent in English; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrated Skidded Structures: design and integration from bid stage to installation materials.
• Ensuring Compliance and Best Practices: apply standards, safe and cost-effective designs.
• Collaborating Across Teams: coordinate with architectural, electrical, mechanical, and site engineers.

What you'll do? As a team player, your responsibilities include:

• Integrated Skidded Structures: Be responsible for electrical design/integration of skidded solutions from bid stage to completion. Preparation of design & workshop documentation and ordering BoMs for installation material and non‑critical equipment.
• Ensuring Compliance and Best Practices: Apply international, national, and internal standards, ensuring that all designs are safe, compliant, and cost-effective. Integrate good engineering practices into every stage of the design process.
• Collaborating Across Teams: Actively participate in project kick‑off and coordination meetings, and engage with cross-functional teams, including architectural, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and site engineers, to ensure a cohesive project execution.
• Approving and Reviewing Documentation: Support the review and technical approval of subcontractor workshop documentation and supplier offers. Specify materials, services, and necessary certifications for project execution.
• Supporting Execution and Site Activities: Provide technical support during fabrication and assembly. Collaborate with site managers, manufacturing, quality control, and commissioning engineers to resolve structural issues and ensure safe and efficient implementation.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering, building services or similar degree.
• Experience: 1+years. Firm theoretical knowledge backed-up by experience
• Language: Fluent in English
• Software Skills: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, EPLAN/Amtech, and MS Office
• Key Competencies: Attention to detail, analytical thinking, creativity, problem‑solving, organisation, flexibility, and strong team collaboration
