Job summary

Vertiv seeks an Electrical Engineer for its Skidded Switchgear Solutions team in Ireland. You will design and integrate skidded electrical structures from bid to installation, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Integrated Skidded Structures: manage electrical design/integration of skidded solutions from bid to installation; prepare design/workshop docs and BoMs.
• Ensuring compliance with international, national and internal standards; ensure safe, cost-effective designs.
• Collaborating across teams with architectural, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and site engineers for cohesive execution.
• Approving and reviewing subcontractor workshop docs and supplier offers; specify materials and certifications.
• Support fabrication/assembly with technical guidance; coordinate with site managers and quality control.

What you'll do? As a team player, your responsibilities include:

• Integrated Skidded Structures: Be responsible for electrical design/integration of skidded solutions from bid stage to completion. Preparation of design & workshop documentation and ordering BoMs for installation material and non-critical equipment.
• Ensuring Compliance and Best Practices: Apply international, national, and internal standards, ensuring that all designs are safe, compliant, and cost-effective. Integrate good engineering practices into every stage of the design process.
• Collaborating Across Teams: Actively participate in project kick-off and coordination meetings, and engage with cross-functional teams, including architectural, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and site engineers, to ensure a cohesive project execution.
• Approving and Reviewing Documentation: Support the review and technical approval of subcontractor workshop documentation and supplier offers. Specify materials, services, and necessary certifications for project execution.
• Supporting Execution and Site Activities: Provide technical support during fabrication and assembly. Collaborate with site managers, manufacturing, quality control, and commissioning engineers to resolve structural issues and ensure safe and efficient implementation.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering, building services or similar degree.
• Experience: 1+years. Firm theoretical knowledge backed-up by experience
• Language: Fluent in English
• Software Skills: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, EPLAN/Amtech, and MS Office
• Key Competencies: Attention to detail, analytical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, organisation, flexibility, and strong team collaboration
