E‑Frontiers in Dublin is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You will support planning, coordination and delivery of civils, utilities and telecoms projects across Ireland, working with Site Managers, subcontractors and clients to meet programmes and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in large-scale infrastructure, strong technical skills and fluent collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Degree, diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience as Project Engineer, Site Engineer or similar.
  • Experience in civils, utilities, telecommunications, power or infrastructure.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong health & safety awareness in construction.
  • Excellent coordination with site teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support across infrastructure and civil projects.
  • Assist with planning, coordination and delivery from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate with site management, subcontractors and project teams.
  • Review drawings, specs and construction information.
  • Assist with setting out, surveying and technical queries.
  • Monitor progress against programme and address delays.
  • Liaise with clients, authorities and utility providers.

About the Role

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer to join their Dublin team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, coordination and delivery of infrastructure projects, working closely with Site Managers, Supervisors, Engineers, subcontractors, clients and utility providers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in civils, utilities, telecommunications, roadworks or power infrastructure who is looking to take on a project-focused role within a growing organisation.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting projects from planning and mobilisation through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support across infrastructure and civil engineering projects.

  • Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of projects from inception through to completion.

  • Coordinate with Site Management, supervisors, subcontractors and project teams to ensure efficient delivery of works.

  • Review drawings, specifications, construction information and project documentation.

  • Assist with setting out, surveying and technical queries where required.

  • Monitor project progress against programme and identify potential delays or technical issues.

  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, utility providers and other stakeholders.

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, reports, records and quality documentation.

  • Assist with project planning, resource coordination and procurement requirements.

  • Monitor works to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications and relevant standards.

  • Identify and resolve technical issues on site in conjunction with the wider project team.

  • Assist with the management and coordination of subcontractors.

  • Support commercial teams with measurements, valuations, variations and progress reporting.

  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with company health & safety policies and relevant legislation.

  • Participate in site inspections, audits and progress meetings.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Project Engineer, Site Engineer or Civil Engineer with a background in infrastructure, utilities, telecommunications, power or civil engineering.

Experience working on large-scale underground utility, telecoms, power or road infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.

You should be technically capable, commercially aware and comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment where coordination between multiple stakeholders is essential.

Essential Experience
  • Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Previous experience in a Project Engineer, Site Engineer or similar engineering position.

  • Experience working within civils, utilities, telecommunications, power or infrastructure.

  • Good understanding of construction/project delivery processes.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Experience coordinating with site teams, subcontractors and other stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of health & safety requirements within construction.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to project deadlines.

  • Full driving licence.

Desirable Experience
  • Experience with underground power, telecoms or utility infrastructure.

  • Experience working with ESB Networks, local authorities, telecoms operators or similar utility clients.

  • Experience with roadworks and reinstatement.

  • Experience with surveying, setting out and site measurements.

  • Knowledge of relevant Irish construction and utility standards.

  • Experience with project management systems and construction documentation.

  • Experience supporting commercial/quantity surveying functions, including variations and measurements.

  • Relevant Safe Pass, Manual Handling and other construction-related certifications.
