Job summary

ESB is seeking a Project Development professional to help identify and develop new investment opportunities within its Asset Development portfolio. The role focuses on feasibility, landowner engagement, and planning, working with engineering, planning and legal specialists across ESB.

You will support market competitions, coordinate contracts, and help deliver a robust development pipeline for flexible generation and energy storage initiatives.

Qualifications

• Assess opportunities across technical, environmental, regulatory, market and financial factors.
• Ability to own projects and work independently.
• Plan and communicate requirements to progress projects and initiatives.
• 3rd level degree in engineering, commercial, planning or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams in assessing and developing opportunities, including greenfield and brownfield sites, new technologies and acquisitions.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders to secure permits, authorisations, planning and connection agreements.
• Deliver assigned work to ESB project management standards, meeting technical, commercial, legal, procurement and programme requirements.
• Support preparation of projects for market competitions, including storage, capacity and system services.
• Research technology areas with commercial potential.
• Manage procurement and contract strategy, and coordinate project contracts.
• Support delivery of Safe and Sound across all projects.
• Promote a strong team culture and open communication across the project team and Asset Development.
• Research project or industry issues affecting delivery and present conclusions.
