Job summary

MSL Engineering Ltd in Cork is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Cork-based team. You will coordinate engineering activities, ensure safety and quality compliance, and support the execution of mechanical installation works.

This role reports to the Project Manager, involves off-site pipe fabrication coordination, progress reporting, and cross-discipline coordination. A degree in mechanical engineering and at least 4 years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Develop a full understanding of the MSL scope of work.
• Report directly to the Project Manager.
• Support Area Engineers in resolving on-site queries.
• Coordinate off-site pipe fabrication in line with construction programme.
• Ensure effective on-site coordination between Mechanical and other disciplines.
• Prepare weekly progress reports for both client and Project Manager.
• Coordinate input from Area Engineers for progress and variation reporting.
• Monitor site activities for scope compliance and identify potential variations.
• Ensure timely ordering and delivery of MSL-supplied equipment.
• Liaise with consultants, PSCS, contractors, and client teams.
• Coordinate project activities with off-site fabrication teams.
• Attend and contribute to regular progress meetings.
• Participate in safety audits and monitor site safety performance.
• Support QA activities to ensure timely system handover.
• Interpret piping isometrics and P&IDs.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in a mechanical engineering role
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and products
• Experience reading and interpreting piping isometrics and P&IDs
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Strong organisational and coordination abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment
