Job summary

MSL Engineering Ltd in Dungarvan, Ireland, seeks a Project Mechanical Engineer with strong on-site construction experience to drive modular fabrication projects from site to handover. The role requires practical knowledge of piping isometrics and P&IDs, plus the ability to generate work packs, monitor progress, and coordinate subcontractors.

You will report weekly, support supervisors, perform safety audits, and liaise with clients to resolve technical queries.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of piping isometrics and P&IDs is essential.
• Minimum 2 years in Mechanical Engineering role with strong on-site construction experience.
• Hold an engineering degree or trade qualification.

Responsibilities

• Generate work packs and support on modular execution.
• Monitor fabrication and procurement status and expediting as needed.
• Coordinate on-site subcontractors and client activities (insulation, cladding, steel, containment).
• Attend weekly progress meetings and provide technical backup as required.
• Perform safety audits and monitor on-site safety performance.

• Adherence to and promotion of company safety and quality policies
• Work pack Generation – critical foundation of MSL’s snag free & on schedule module execution program
• Monitoring of Fabrication and Procurement status and expediting as required to support the module population schedule
• Supporting Supervisors as required, and providing any necessary technical back up, to resolve engineering queries in the field
• Onsite co-ordination of MSL Subcontractors and client appointed Contractor activities eg. Insulation & cladding, structural steel, electrical containment, heat tracing, pressure testing
• Weekly Progress Reporting
• Work pack walkdowns to inspect quality of install, adherence to specs, slopes etc
• Represent MSL at official client walkdowns
• Monitor MSL Scope of Work, and identification of any potential out-of-scope work.
• Notification and tracking of same with Project QS
• Attend weekly progress meetings as required
• Safety audits and monitoring safety performance on site
