Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment in Co. Roscommon is seeking a Financial Accountant to join a leading engineering business. You will own month-end close, balance sheet integrity and financial reporting, with exposure to tax, audit, contract accounting and financial controls.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will develop into a more senior finance role as the business grows, with opportunities to take ownership and lead process improvements.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA qualified.
• Strong technical accounting and month-end experience.
• Good knowledge of Irish VAT and tax compliance.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP/accounting system.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Confident communicating with operational and commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close and prepare monthly management accounts.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and payroll control accounts.
• Prepare VAT, RCT and other statutory returns.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and lease accounting.
• Prepare audit files and liaise with external auditors.
• Support statutory accounts preparation under FRS 102.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, working capital and contract reporting.
• Support WIP, retentions and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Deputise for the Financial Controller when required.
• Contribute to finance systems and process improvements.

Our client a leading engineering business based in Co. Roscommon are hiring a Financial Accountant to join their growing and fast-paced business.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the month-end close, balance sheet integrity and financial reporting, while gaining broad exposure across tax, audit, contract accounting and financial controls. There is a clear opportunity to progress into a more senior finance position as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close and prepare monthly management accounts.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and payroll control accounts.
• Prepare VAT, RCT and other statutory returns.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and lease accounting.
• Prepare audit files and liaise with external auditors.
• Support statutory accounts preparation under FRS 102.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, working capital and contract reporting.
• Support WIP, retentions and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Deputise for the Financial Controller when required.
