Job summary

Fortis Recruitment is working with a leading provider of telecoms and energy infrastructure to hire an Operational Finance Lead for its projects team in Ireland. You will provide real-time analysis and WIP feedback to the Operational Finance Director across multiple live data-centre projects.

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with experience in project-based finance, cost analysis, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
• Experience in project-based finance and cost analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the financial performance of multiple projects.
• Support the PMO team with budgets, forecasts, cashflow projections and profitability analysis.
• Review and audit project cost tracking.
• Review and audit costs on smaller-scale projects.
• Ensure accurate allocation of costs and revenues to projects.
• Maintain audit files for internal and external audits.
• Support monthly revenue recognition, including WIP calculations and accruals.

Our client is a leading specialist in the deployment and maintenance of telecommunications and energy infrastructure, working with major operators and local providers across Ireland and the UK.

They are seeking to hire a Operational Finance lead to sit on their projects team and provide real-time analysis and work-in-progress feedback to the Operational Finance Director on the various projects they have live in the data‑centre sector.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified accountant to gain exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects, working closely with project managers and finance leadership to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting across a diverse project portfolio. The ideal candidate may come from a construction background where they ran point on projects, or networks or utilities backgrounds.

This role is with a rapidly growing business through-out Europe and there is an opportunity to build an operational finance team beneath this role for the right, ambitious candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the financial performance of multiple projects
• Support the PMO team with project budgets, forecasts, cashflow projections, and profitability analysis
• Review and audit project cost tracking
• Review and audit costs on smaller-scale projects
• Ensure accurate allocation of costs and revenues to individual projects
• Maintain audit files for internal and external audit purposes
• Support the monthly revenue recognition process, including WIP (Work in Progress) calculations and accruals

What We're Looking For

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent)
• Cost analysis experience
• Experience supporting or working within project-based finance
• Exact attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Highly motivated, able to manage multiple tasks with strong team collaboration skills
• Previous use of Power BI is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
