Job summary

Jai in Waterford is seeking a part-time Programme Coordinator to work 20 hours per week on a 1-year contract. The role involves managing key relationships with partners in business and education and ensuring volunteers and students have a great experience during JAI programmes.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, be self-motivated, and hold a third level qualification. Key benefits include flexible hours and a company pension scheme.

The Role

We arerecruitingapart-timeProgrammeCoordinatorfora1-yearcontractbased inWaterfordto work20 hours per week, with flexibility to work from homeforanumberofdays a week, to be agreed with the successful candidate.This positionwillfocusonmanagingkey relationships with our partners in business and education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruiting business volunteers from JAIsupporting companies
  • BuildingrelationshipswithJAI companies and schools
  • Developing a full understanding of JAI suite of programmes
  • Supporting all JAIvolunteers through the phases of induction,trainingand delivery in both virtual and in-person learning environments
  • Managing all thelogisticsinvolved in ensuring participating schools and volunteers enjoy a positive and productive experience throughout the delivery of JAIprogrammes
  • Liaising with school authorities to ensure teachers are fully briefed and students canoptimizetheir time on the JAIprogrammes
  • Event management

The Person

The majority ofthe role is based inWaterford.Theywill be a highly motivated and dynamic individual who is energetic and enthusiastic,with the capacity to engage and motivate others. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skillsandbe innovative and self-motivated with a flexible approach to work. The candidate will be a strong teamplayer with fluent English communication skills (both written and oral),haveproject management skills,excellent relationshipmanagementand presentation skills.

It is essential that the candidate has a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

It is desirable that the candidate has aninterest in non-formal educational activitiesfor young people and has the potential to motivate and encourage volunteersfrom corporate environmentsto provide quality learning experiences for primary and second level students.

The candidateis required tohave:

  • A third level qualificationorequivalent, relevant to the performance of the role.
  • A proventrack recordof successful relationship management.
  • The ability to conductvolunteertraining (online and in person), manage projects, and deliver to strict deadlines.
  • Operational management skills to co-ordinate the work of business volunteers from our supporting organisations as well as meeting the expectations of principals and teachers in our partner schools.
  • Proven ability as a multitasker and ‘self-starter’- this is an extremely fast-paced role and requires the individual to manage several projects involving multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car.
