Job summary

Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) seeks a Programme Coordinator for a full-time, permanent role based in Galway. The role requires building relationships with business volunteers, schools, and partner organisations, and involves travel to Mayo, Roscommon and Westmeath.

You will support induction, training and delivery of JAI programmes in both virtual and in-person environments, coordinating logistics, liaising with teachers, and ensuring a positive learning experience for students.

Qualifications

  • A third level qualification or equivalent, relevant to the performance of the role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven track record of successful relationship management.
  • Operational management skills to co-ordinate volunteer work with schools and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting business volunteers from JAIsupporting companies.
  • Building relationships with JAI companies and schools.
  • Developing a full understanding of JAI suite of programmes.
  • Supporting all JAI volunteers through induction, training and delivery in virtual and in-person environments.
  • Managing logistics to ensure schools and volunteers have a positive experience.
  • Liaising with school authorities to brief teachers and maximise student time on programmes.

The Role

We are recruitinga ProgrammeCoordinatorfor afull-time, permanentpositionbased inGalway. The role will also involve travelling to surrounding counties of Mayo,Roscommonand Westmeath, so the ideal candidate willbe located inGalway city or county.JAIProgrammeCoordinators manage key relationships with our partners in business and education.There is theoptionto work from homea several days a week, to be agreed with the successful candidate

Key Responsibilities

The Programme Coordinatorposition involves:

  • Recruiting business volunteers from JAIsupporting companies
  • BuildingrelationshipswithJAI companies and schools
  • Developing a full understanding of JAI suite of programmes
  • Supporting all JAIvolunteers through the phases of induction,trainingand delivery in both virtual and in-person learning environments
  • Managing all thelogisticsinvolved in ensuring participating schools and volunteers enjoy a positive and productive experience throughout the delivery of JAIprogrammes
  • Liaising with school authorities to ensure teachers are fully briefed and students canoptimise their time on the JAIprogrammes
  • Event management

The Person

Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and dynamic person who is energetic and enthusiastic,with the capacity to engage and motivate others. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skillsandbe innovative and self-motivated with a flexible approach to work. They will bea strong teamplayer with fluent English communication skills (both written and oral),haveproject management skills,excellent relationshipmanagementand presentation skills.Fluency in Irish would be a distinct advantage.

It is desirable that the candidate has aninterest in non-formal educational activitiesfor young people and has the potential to motivate and encourage volunteersfrom corporate environmentsto provide quality learning experiences for primary and second level students.

The candidate is required to have:

  • A third level qualificationorequivalent, relevant to the performance of the role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • A proventrack recordof successful relationship management.
  • Operational management skills to co-ordinate the work of business volunteers from our supporting organisations as well as meeting the expectations of principals and teachers in our partner schools.
  • Proven ability as a multitasker and ‘self-starter’- this is an extremely fast-paced role and requires the individual to manage several projects involving multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car.
  • Fluency inIrishwould be a distinct advantage.
