Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment seeks a proactive Operations Leader to manage a multi-skilled manufacturing team in Connacht. You will drive daily production plans while upholding safety, quality and environmental standards and foster continuous improvement across the operation.

The ideal candidate will hold a third-level qualification and a minimum of five years' experience in a high-volume environment, with strong people-management, analytical and communication skills. This is a 12-month temporary contract.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification, diploma or degree in a business or technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience in people management in a team-based environment is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple conflicting demands and to prioritize accordingly.
• High level of PC literacy.

Responsibilities

• Manage, lead and motivate a multi-skilled Operations group in an empowered team-based environment, ensuring full engagement of team members.

• Execute daily and weekly production plans to meet all Business Plan commitments.
• Ensure timely completion of all corrective and preventive actions to avoid repeats of Service and Quality defects, and all audit non-conformances.
• Ensure a consistently high level of communication with the Operations team members through daily, weekly, and monthly routines.
• Drive, manage and embed operational excellence and a continuous improvement culture within the team to deliver improvements through lean principles and systems.

The qualified candidate will be an excellent multi-tasker and should have previous experience leading a multi-skilled team in a pro-active, hands-on way, having responsibility for all aspects of shift team performance. This position reports to the Senior Operations Manager and is expected to play a key role as a member of the Wider Management Team. This is a 12-month temporary contract.
