Job summary

iiM GmbH is seeking a production/operator associate to manufacture, assemble and test ProPhotonix products and subassemblies following approved instructions, drawings and schedules. You will ensure accurate traceability and support corrective actions while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The role emphasizes routine problem identification, cross-training, and contributing to safe, reliable production delivery in a structured environment with strong teamwork and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent education.
  • At least 1 year in production/assembly/manufacturing or technical operations.
  • Experience in electronics/optics/cleanroom or regulated manufacturing is desirable.
  • A technical qualification or apprenticeship is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions, drawings and BOMs accurately.
  • Experience with hand tools and basic measuring equipment.
  • Attention to detail with traceability of production data.
  • Knowledge of ESD/5S/cleanroom standards is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and digital literacy required.
  • Experience with PIQ/ERP/MRP is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a structured environment with quality and safety standards.
  • Strong teamwork and commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products and subassemblies using approved work instructions, drawings, BOMs, tools and process parameters.
  • Carry out in-process inspection, basic testing and verification; identify defects or deviations and follow non-conformance and escalation process.
  • Record labour, materials, serial/lot traceability, inspection and test results in PIQ, ERP or other records.
  • Set up and use production tools; complete routine checks and basic troubleshooting before seeking support.
  • Follow health & safety, ESD, cleanroom, contamination-control, quality and environmental procedures.
  • Work to the daily production plan and quality/productivity standards; communicate shortages or delays to Production Lead.
  • Maintain an organised workstation and protect components through correct handling and 5S practices.
  • Participate in cross-training and continuous-improvement activities; support less-experienced operators.

Job description

Responsibilities

Manufacture, assemble, inspect, test and prepare ProPhotonix products and subassemblies in line with approved work instructions, drawings, production schedules and quality standards. This role performs a range of trained processes with consistent quality and accurate traceability. The role identifies routine problems, supports corrective action and contributes to safe, reliable and efficient production delivery.

  • Assemble products and subassemblies using approved work instructions, drawings, bills of material, tools and process parameters.
  • Carry out in-process inspection, basic testing and verification; identify defects or deviations and follow the approved non-conformance and escalation process.
  • Record labour, materials, serial/lot traceability, inspection and test results accurately in PIQ, ERP or other approved production records.
  • Set up and use production tools and equipment within training and authorisation; complete routine checks and basic troubleshooting before seeking technical support.
  • Follow all health and safety, ESD, cleanroom, contamination-control, quality and environmental procedures applicable to the assigned work area.
  • Work to the daily production plan and agreed quality/productivity standards; communicate shortages, delays, equipment issues or risks promptly to the Production Lead.
  • Maintain an organised workstation and protect components, tools and finished products through correct handling, storage, 5S and waste-control practices.
  • Participate in cross-training, continuous-improvement activities and team problem-solving, and support less-experienced operators on processes for which fully trained
Your Job Profile
  • Leaving Certificate, secondary school diploma, vocational qualification, or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a production, assembly, manufacturing, or technical operations environment.
  • Experience in electronics, optics, mechanical assembly, cleanroom operations, or regulated manufacturing environments is desirable.
  • A technical qualification, apprenticeship, or relevant vocational training is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and inspection criteria accurately.
  • Experience using hand tools, assembly fixtures, and basic measuring or testing equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately record production data and maintain product traceability.
  • Knowledge of ESD controls, cleanroom standards, 5S principles, and quality procedures is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and digital literacy are required.
  • Experience with manufacturing systems such as PIQ, ERP, MRP, or similar shop-floor applications is an advantage.
  • Ability to work in a structured environment while adhering to quality, safety, and operational standards.
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
