Job summary

This role provides comprehensive quality support to both Manufacturing and R&D processes within a world-class production environment. The Quality Technician conducts mechanical, visual and functional checks on incoming materials and electronic/mechanical modules, supports problem-solving through data analysis, and drives corrective and preventive actions to improve yield, quality, uptime and overall efficiency. Job Description

The position also plays a key role in audits, process validation and communication with internal teams and external vendors on all quality-related matters.

Responsibilities
  • Provide overall quality support to Manufacturing and R&D processes, ensuring products and materials meet defined specifications and standards.
  • Execute mechanical, visual and functional checks on incoming materials to confirm compliance with quality requirements.
  • Act as the point of contact for quality issues related to incoming materials, driving mitigation plans and investigating root causes to define corrective actions.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and perform mechanical and dimensional inspections accurately.
  • Conduct functional and visual tests on electronic and mechanical modules, ensuring they meet product quality criteria.
  • Gather, analyse and present data from the shop floor system to support structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Develop strong familiarity with all aspects of shop floor system controls and use them effectively in daily quality activities.
  • Proactively implement corrective actions to prevent quality-related issues and production downtime.
  • Manage controlled builds and data gathering for various quality experiments, including line trials and other controlled build activities.
  • Ensure all audit and in-process quality control (IPQC) procedures are executed correctly and consistently.
  • Perform effective compliance audits that drive improvement and focus on key areas impacting quality, safety and efficiency.
  • Apply and follow established quality systems and conduct internal audits in line with company standards.
  • Raise and manage quality notifications, bulletins and purges to address identified issues and communicate changes.
  • Review, update and write standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to reflect best practice and current processes.
  • Investigate and help manage out-of-hours bill of materials (BOM) issues to minimise production impact.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives focusing on yield, cycle time, quality, uptime and scrap reduction.
  • Monitor quality-related yields throughout the day and work with core teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to closure.
  • Provide yield and issue updates to Quality Engineers ahead of daily production meetings to support informed decision-making.
  • Lead investigations and hold teams accountable for implementing corrective actions following any final quality audit failures.
  • Manage the quality aspects of material review board (MRB) and return material authorisation (RMA) processes.
  • Communicate effectively with key vendors and external teams on quality matters, ensuring clear expectations and timely resolution of issues.
  • Develop expert knowledge of product quality specifications and criteria and apply this expertise in daily work.
  • Observe all company policies and procedures in relation to quality, operations and conduct.
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and contribute to a safe working environment for others.
Essential Skills
  • Relevant engineering background, preferably in mechanical or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with product validation and process validation activities.
  • Knowledge and practical application of FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and DOE (Design of Experiments) in quality and process improvement.
  • Solid grounding in core quality principles and methods within a manufacturing context.
  • experience with incoming quality control (IQC) processes, including inspection and testing of materials.
  • experience with outgoing quality control (OQC) processes to ensure finished products meet required standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings for mechanical and dimensional inspection.
  • Understanding of electronic and mechanical modules and the ability to perform functional and visual tests on them.
  • Competence in gathering, analysing and presenting shop floor data to support problem-solving.
  • Ability to conduct compliance and process audits that focus on quality, safety and efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams and external vendors on quality matters.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection, documentation and problem resolution.
