Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group is recruiting on behalf of a Wicklow-based SME for a Production Manager to lead on-site manufacturing operations. The role reports to the Operations Manager and is a full-time permanent position.

You will oversee daily production, develop schedules, manage cross-functional teams, and partner with Marketing and Design to translate concepts into cost-effective manufacturing solutions. A growth phase offers opportunity to shape the organisation.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of proven achievement as a Production Manager.
• Hands-on shop floor leader with a can-do attitude.
• Experience in purchasing and stock control in a manufacturing facility.
• Experience in the plastics moulding business is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operation of the production facility, ensuring efficient day-to-day performance and the effective use of resources.
• Develop and coordinate production plans and schedules to meet operational targets, customer requirements and delivery deadlines.
• Manage and support a multidisciplinary team across Production, Transport, Stock Control, Purchasing and Maintenance, driving accountability, teamwork and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with Marketing and Technical Design to develop new products, streamline introduction processes and ensure designs could be translated into practical, cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
• Champion continuous improvement in product quality, production processes and operating standards within an ISO 9002 quality management environment.
• Contribute to the wider management team, supporting business planning, operational decision‑making and the achievement of company objectives.

Our client is a long-established SME that has been in business since 2001. Their manufacturing facility is based in Wicklow. They are a leading leading manufacturer of plastic products for use in various sectors.

Due to expansion the company are looking to hire a Production Manager. This person will report directly into the Operations Manager on site. This is a full-time permanent position.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the overall operation of the production facility, ensuring efficient day-to-day performance and the effective use of resources.
