Job summary

• Desirable but not essential: previous programme production experience.

Meet the team

RTÉ is looking for a Production Accountant to join our Finance team with responsibility for Entertainment television programmes & 2FM radio. Production Accountants work within the production teams to ensure that production budgets are effectively managed and to protect value by deploying and managing effective cost management controls and risk management disciplines. As part of the Finance team, you will play a key role in discharging its financial and accounting responsibilities including month end accounts preparation, annual budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring RTÉ financial policies and procedures are implemented for in-house production expenditure for all programming.

About you

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant of a recognised professional body of accountants (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with experience in financial and or management accounting.
• Excellent PC skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel in particular).
• Experience of working with accounting packages and systems.
• The ability to work at both strategic and operational levels.
• In addition, candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills, be flexible, can work as a team member and take a proactive approach to issues.
• Previous experience in programme production and knowledge of the industry is desirable but not essential.

This appointment will be made on a fixed term full-time contract basis at Production Accountant grade for one year. The salary scale for this grade is from €52,854 to €70,282 gross per annum.
