Job summary

MCS Group is proud to be supporting a growing software company in hiring a QA Automation Engineer to join its product and engineering team. You'll work closely with Product and Engineering to understand requirements, identify risks and determine the right approach to testing. You'll have support from experienced leads while being trusted to make day-to-day QA decisions and take responsibility for quality from early requirements through to release.

Fully Remote within Ireland.

Qualifications

• Hands-on QA experience with testing processes and techniques.
• Practical automation experience using testing frameworks.
• Experience taking responsibility for QA within a product or engineering team.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical information clearly.
• Thoughtful approach to problem solving, risk and prioritising testing.
• Confidence clarifying requirements and challenging assumptions.
• TypeScript and Playwright experience would be beneficial; Java/C# backgrounds welcome.
• Stamp 4 or EU Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Representing QA in requirements discussions, refinement and sprint planning
• Reviewing requirements, asking questions and identifying product and customer risks
• Defining and prioritising test coverage, balancing manual testing and automation
• Building, maintaining and improving automated tests
• Working closely with developers to investigate issues and support their resolution
• Communicating testing progress, quality concerns and release risks clearly
• Making independent QA decisions and escalating concerns where appropriate

This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on testing and automation and is comfortable taking ownership of QA within a product squad.

You'll work closely with Product and Engineering to understand requirements, identify risks and determine the right approach to testing. Clear communication, sound judgement and confidence contributing to product discussions will be key.

You'll have support from experienced leads while being trusted to make day-to-day QA decisions and take responsibility for quality from early requirements through to release.
