Brightwater Recruitment's client, a well-established international financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technologist to join a technology team supporting finance and regulatory reporting systems.

This hands-on QA role requires strong SQL, ETL, data quality and end-to-end testing skills, with Agile and Waterfall SDLC exposure. Hybrid work is offered, with three days in the south Dublin office.

Our client is a well-established international financial services organisation that develops technology solutions supporting complex trading and business operations. About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and self-sufficient Quality Assurance Technologist to join a technology team supporting finance and regulatory reporting systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the verification, testing and analysis of technology solutions, working closely with development, testing, production support and change management teams across a global environment.

This is a hands-on QA role requiring strong technical testing skills, particularly around SQL, ETL, data quality and end-to-end testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and execute test strategies, test plans and test cases.
  • Create detailed test scripts and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs).
  • Work closely with Development, Test Leads, Test Coordinators, Production Support and Change Management teams.
  • Participate throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), particularly within Agile environments.
  • Develop and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and testing.
  • Perform end-to-end ETL testing, data migration testing, data conversion testing and data quality verification.
  • Execute testing across complete end-to-end testing cycles using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Utilise Unix/Linux commands where required for testing and investigation.
  • Take ownership of QA release cycles from preparation through to completion.
  • Identify, document, track and report defects effectively.
  • Work with test management tools to manage test execution and defects.
  • Contribute to test automation and the development of automation frameworks.
  • Explore and utilise Generative AI tools and AI agents to improve QA processes, including test case generation, test execution and automation development.
  • Analyse complex problems, identify risks and provide practical solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Technical Experience
  • 5+ years' experience in software testing / Quality Assurance.
  • Strong hands-on QA experience, including quality control activities.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of test design techniques.
  • Excellent SQL query writing skills.
  • End-to-end ETL testing
  • Data migration testing
  • Data conversion testing
  • Data quality testing and verification
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end testing cycles.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Experience preparing test plans, test scripts and RTMs.
  • Hands-on experience managing QA release cycles and defect reporting.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux commands.
  • Experience with test management tools.
  • Experience with test automation and/or developing automation frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to modern AI/Generative AI tooling for software testing and automation is advantageous.
  • Experience within financial services or banking is beneficial.

Experience with one or more modern automation technologies/frameworks would be advantageous, particularly:

  • Playwright
  • Tosca
  • Generative AI-assisted testing
  • AI-based test case generation
  • AI-assisted test automation development
  • A proactive approach to QA and testing rather than a purely reactive approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • The ability to prioritise and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working within a service-oriented organisation supporting multiple stakeholders.
  • The ability to work effectively across geographically distributed teams and multiple time zones.
  • Experience identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies within complex programmes.
  • A positive and collaborative approach, with the ability to drive work forward while maintaining transparency.
Remuneration Package

A strong rate is on offer for the successful candidate. This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office each week in south Dublin.
