Job summary

Dunnes Stores is seeking an IT Procurement Manager to lead the delivery of sourcing strategies and procurement activities across the business. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders and our CDO/CTO to drive best practice procurement within a fast-paced retail environment.

The role focuses on end-to-end IT tenders, cost reduction, and robust contract management across multiple categories, with a strong emphasis on supplier relationship management and governance.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a Procurement Manager role.
  • Expertise across IT procurement; retail experience beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence at a senior level.
  • Procurement execution including tendering, negotiation and contract award.

We are recruiting a high calibre IT Procurement Manager to Dunnes Procurement team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious individual in a challenging and fast paced retail environment. This role will be a key role in supporting our ambitious Digital Transformation Programme objectives.

The Role:

Our role in managing and maintaining the supply of goods and services to the company is vital to the smooth operation of the Business. As an IT Procurement Manager you will deliver specialist procurement advice, support and solutions to stakeholders across the company.

As well as delivering a wide range of potentially large and complex procurement projects, you’ll adopt a business partnering approach collaborating with senior stakeholders, executive members and our CDO and CTO to deliver best practice procurement that meets the needs of the business.

Main Duties:
  • Responsible for the implementation of procurement best practices across the breadth & depth of the category by providing market insight, development of category strategies & associated sourcing plans, tendering, negotiation and supplier management
  • Management of complex end to end IT tenders to contract delivery.
  • Development of sourcing strategies for the relevant categories in collaboration with Senior Stakeholders
  • Driving cost reduction efforts through process improvement, contract efficiencies and elimination of non-value add activities.
  • Supporting the provision of goods and services by taking ownership of supplier contract documents and managing the evaluation process through to contract award
  • Driving up supplier performance by designing, implementing and embedding supplier relationship and contract management processes
  • Offering specialist technical advice and support on commercial and procurement issues to a range of stakeholders
  • Taking a lead on all procurement and commercial activity for a range of business areas and attending senior leadership meetings
  • Helping to develop procurement policy, procedures and processes and communicating these across the organisation
  • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure development and implementation of robust contracts with all key suppliers
  • Managing stakeholder relationships at all levels, including some of our senior leaders
  • Build relationships with the wider business, including Finance, HR and Legal.
  • Supporting the Director of Procurement on procurement related projects, initiatives and reporting
  • Develop in conjunction with the CDO and CTO a Supplier Relationship Management programme for all key suppliers and ensure appropriate metrics are in place to deliver service against contracts.
  • Ensure that the relationship governance framework is delivered on all strategic contracts to maximise strategic goal alignment, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure continuous improvement measure are in place with key suppliers.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of the commercial IT environment, how the organisation sources, deploys and manages external partners and when it is appropriate to use in-house resources.
  • Keep up to date with trends in IT and the industry and keep abreast of industry knowledge of key vendors.
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s Degree would be highly desirable
  • 3-5 years relevant experience, in a Procurement Manager role
  • Expertise across all areas of IT procurement with any additional experience within the retail industry beneficial
  • Experienced in a broad range of sourcing strategies to underpin the IT category
  • Outstanding communication skills and able to influence at a senior level
  • Strong Relationship management both with internal customers, stakeholders & suppliers
  • Procurement execution including business requirements and market analysis, tender negotiation and contract award
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills and using these to get the most out of a range of complicated supplier relationships
  • Managerial or leadership experience highly beneficial
  • Resilience and ability to juggle many priorities at any one time.
  • Excellent MS Office skills – particularly Excel and Word
  • CIPS qualified (beneficial although not essential)
  • Flexible approach and ability to work to tight timelines within a fast moving industry
  • A value added approach to delivering exceptional procurement service to internal customers.
