Job summary

RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our client is seeking a Procurement / Buyer Manager (Construction) to oversee purchase, negotiation and scheduling of materials for residential projects. Responsibilities include procurring materials, obtaining quotations, negotiating terms, and coordinating with Quantity Surveyors and site teams to ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence.

The role requires experience in construction procurement, strong knowledge of building materials, and excellent negotiation

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Construction Buyer, Purchasing Officer or similar procurement role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of building materials and construction products.
  • Experience working alongside Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and site teams.
  • Commercially aware, proactive and solution focused.
  • Good understanding of quantities and material requirements.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Procure construction materials for residential projects in line with programme requirements.
  • Obtain and compare supplier quotations to ensure best quality and value within allocated budgets.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with suppliers.
  • Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to review project requirements, specifications, and procurement schedules.
  • Liaise with Contracts Managers and site teams to ensure materials are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders.
  • Monitor material costs and identify opportunities for savings and efficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier pricing information.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Group procurement strategy including the use of templates and budget variance reporting.
  • Ensure consistent application of procurement requirements across all projects and locations.

RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our client are seeking to speak with experienced Buyers/Purchasing/Procurement professionals, ideally from within the Construction or a related industry. Well established and working to the highest standards of design and delivery, they are seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee the purchase, negotiation and schedule of materials for all projects.

Requirements:
