Job summary

Diageo in Dublin's St James's Gate site is hiring a Process Mechanical Technician to join the Operations team. You will deliver safe, reliable asset performance through preventative maintenance and continuous improvement across the site.

The role requires a recognised mechanical apprenticeship, strong maintenance knowledge, and the ability to use SAP and other maintenance systems. It operates on a continental 12-hour shift, with a 12‑month fixed term contract and a competitive base salary plus

  • Proficient with SAP for reporting and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance and asset care to support production.
  • Complete planned preventive maintenance to required standard.
  • Use SAP and maintenance systems for reporting and data accuracy.
  • Coach operators on autonomous maintenance and equipment optimisation.

Location: St James's Gate, Dublin

Contract type: 12‑month Fixed Term Contracts available

Shift pattern: Continental shift - 12‑hour shifts covering days and nights

Reward: Competitive base salary + 33% shift allowance

About the Role

As a Process Mechanical Technician, you will work as part of the Operations team to deliver safe, reliable and efficient asset performance. You will play a key role in preventative maintenance, continuous improvement and operational excellence across the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work safely at all times, adhering to Diageo health, safety, environmental and food safety standards
  • Deliver mechanical maintenance and asset care to support production performance
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to the required standard
  • Use SAP and maintenance systems effectively for reporting and data accuracy
  • Support continuous improvement through RCPS, 5 Whys and MMS principles
  • Coach operators on autonomous maintenance and equipment optimisation
  • Support capital projects including installation, commissioning and testing
  • Participate in shift handovers, Tier 1 meetings and asset care reviews
About You
Essential
  • Completed a recognised mechanical apprenticeship
  • Strong understanding of asset performance and maintenance philosophies
  • Computer literate with good numerical and verbal reasoning skills
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a high‑performing team
  • Proactive, resilient and comfortable challenging unsafe or non‑standard behaviours
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental risk standards
  • Experience using SAP and Harford systems
