Job summary

Matrix Recruitment Group is seeking an accomplished Production Manager to lead a high-throughput manufacturing operation in Ireland. You will be a hands-on, commercially aware leader translating strategy into results, guiding safety, quality, delivery and productivity while developing people and implementing improvements.

You will oversee production, warehouse, and cross-functional teams, using SAP/ERP to drive informed decisions and continuous improvement in a technically advanced environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in Production Manager or senior production leadership.
  • Experience in one-piece-flow, high-throughput environments.
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, delivery and productivity KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership across production, setting clear expectations and a high-performance culture.
  • Lead production in a one-piece-flow environment to optimise workflow and efficiency.
  • Own and drive performance against safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity KPIs.
  • Translate production plans into clear priorities to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, waste and downtime constraints.
  • Lead Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives with teams.
  • Develop production capability through coaching and succession planning.
  • Build relationships with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Supply Chain.
  • Utilise SAP/ERP for planning, reporting, material flow and data-driven decisions.
  • Oversee the site's warehouse operation and an established team.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and operational updates to senior management.
  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, Quality, compliance and discipline.

Our client is a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business operating as part of a successful global organisation. With a strong reputation for quality and technical excellence, the organisation are now seeking an accomplishedProduction Manager to take a leading role in the performance and development of the manufacturing operation.

This is a role for a hands-on, commercially aware production leader who understands how to translate production strategy into results. You will lead teams within a high-throughput, one-piece-flow manufacturing environment, with responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, people development, and continuous improvement.

You will have the autonomy and influence to identify opportunities, challenge existing processes, develop your people, and implement improvements that have a measurable impact on the operation.

YOUR NEW JOB

Reporting to senior site leadership, you will be responsible for the effective management of the production function, ensuring the operation consistently delivers against its key operational and customer commitments.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Provide strong leadership across the production operation, setting clear expectations and creating a culture of accountability, engagement, and high performance.
  • Lead production within a one-piece-flow environment, optimising workflow, labour utilisation, output, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Own and drive performance against key Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Productivity KPIs.
  • Translate production plans into clear priorities, ensuring customer requirements and delivery commitments are achieved.
  • Identify and eliminate operational constraints, bottlenecks, waste, and sources of downtime.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives, engaging teams in identifying and delivering sustainable improvements.
  • Develop production capability through effective coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Build strong working relationships across Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other key functions.
  • Utilise SAP/ERP systems to support production planning, reporting, material flow, and data-driven decision making.
  • Provide oversight of the site's warehouse operation, supported by an established team.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and operational updates to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety, Quality, compliance, and operational discipline.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We are interested in speaking with experienced production leaders who can demonstrate genuine operational impact, rather than simply experience of managing a production team.

You will ideally bring:

  • Proven experience in a Production Manager role or equivalent senior production leadership role.
  • Strong supervisor experience within ideally anengineering environment
  • Demonstrable experience working within a one-piece-flow, high-throughput or Lean manufacturing environment.
  • A track record of improving productivity, efficiency, quality, delivery performance, and operational KPIs.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP or a comparable ERP system; SAP experience is particularly important for this position.
  • Experience managing employee relations and developing high-performing production teams.
  • Some experience of overseeing warehouse, stores, or materials operations is an advantage.
  • A genuine understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement, with the ability to turn methodology into practical results.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • The confidence and credibility to engage effectively with both shop-floor teams and senior stakeholders.
  • A third-level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related discipline is desirable.
