Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment's client, a renowned international financial services and insurance organisation, seeks a Privacy Advisor Lead for its Irish operation. You will be the go-to privacy expert and shape its AI governance agenda, supporting DPIAs and regulatory engagement.

You will own privacy strategy across programmes, design governance controls, and work with Legal, Compliance and Risk to meet EU privacy and AI requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or CIPP/E and CIPM certification.
• 5+ years’ operational experience in financial services, insurance, banking, investments, IT or legal, ideally supporting privacy, risk or compliance activity.
• 4+ years in privacy, compliance, risk or regulatory roles with ownership of complex projects, processes or policies.
• Experience working as, or closely alongside, a DPO.
• Solid knowledge of regulatory compliance, industry regulation and regulatory data sources.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teams at every level, including external regulators.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main privacy contact between business teams and the Privacy Office, advising on obligations, risk and compliance.
• Shape privacy programmes, projects and products involving personal data.
• Design privacy solutions that align with commercial goals and regulatory boundaries.
• Build and maintain privacy policies, procedures, controls and governance processes.
• Lead remediation of privacy control weaknesses and reduce risk.
• Manage complex privacy issues and incidents from investigation to resolution.
• Identify process gaps and emerging risks and drive improvements.
• Translate legislation and standards into practical guidance for strategy and technology.
• Track privacy metrics and report trends to leadership.
• Review documents and materials for privacy, legal and regulatory compliance.
