Job summary

Morgan McKinley in Cork seeks a Principal IT/OT Cyber Security Architect to lead security architecture for a major regulated critical infrastructure program, bridging IT and OT and coordinating on-site delivery.

You will translate standards (NIS2, IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISO 27001) into practical roadmaps and guide executive and engineering teams to practical solutions, with hands-on on-site presence in Cork two days per week.

Qualifications

• Senior/Principal Security Architect with track record in IT/OT or critical infrastructure.
• Strong expertise in cloud, network, identity, and application security plus OT/ICS constraints.
• Delivery-focused with consulting skills and ability to influence senior leaders.
• On-site presence in Cork at least 2 days per week.
• Desirable: OT security certifications (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443) and familiarity with Irish regulations.

Role Overview

An embedded leadership role acting as a trusted adviser and technical lead for a major regulated critical infrastructure program. You will bridge IT/OT security, align senior stakeholders, and coordinate complex cybersecurity delivery on-site in Cork.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead security architecture across enterprise IT, OT, SCADA, and IC
• Delivery & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary on-site lead in Cork, resolving cross-project dependencies, aligning executive and engineering teams, and managing specialist resources.
• Strategy & Governance: Translate NIS2, IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001 requirements into practical technical roadmaps and implementable solutions.

Key Requirements

• Experience: Proven track record as a Senior/Principal Security Architect in complex IT/OT or critical infrastructure environments.
• Technical Breadth: Strong expertise in cloud, network, identity, and application security alongside OT/ICS safety constraints.
• Execution & Influence: Practical, delivery-focused mindset with strong consulting skills and the ability to influence senior business and technical leaders.
• Presence: On-site availability in Cork at least 2 days per week.
• Desirable: Certifications in OT security (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443) and familiarity with the Irish regulatory landscape.
