SimoTech is hiring an IT OT Cybersecurity Engineer to join the client’s Automation IT/OT team onsite in Cork. You will handle IT/OT system integration, deployment, troubleshooting, and support across networking and operational technologies for manufacturing operations.

The role requires strong technical expertise in enterprise networks, Windows Server, AD, and Hyper-V, with a focus on security administration and incident response. Cork site offers growth and varied projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years in IT and/or OT infrastructure design, deployment and support.
• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven experience with enterprise networks (LAN/WiFi) and Cisco hardware.
• Experience with Windows OS deployment and Active Directory management.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V).
• Cybersecurity experience in OT/IT environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for IT and OT systems across network, hardware and application layers.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot servers, storage, switches, firewalls and security devices.
• Manage Windows operating environments and Active Directory domains.
• Deploy, manage and troubleshoot virtualization environments (Hyper-V).
• Provide system and network security administration including patching and incident response.
• Document system configurations, requirements and validation deliverables (URS, DS, DDS).
• Support infrastructure for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve OT/IT issues.
• Maintain compliance with client system standards and policies.

This role will be responsible for IT/OT system integration, deployment, troubleshooting, and support across a range of networking and operational technologies. The successful candidate will apply strong technical expertise to maintain and optimize infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced technical support for IT and OT systems, including network, hardware, and application layers.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot servers, storage systems, network switches, firewalls, and security devices.
• Manage and maintain Windows operating environments and Active Directory domains.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot virtualization environments (Hyper-V).
• Provide system and network-level security administration, including patching and incident response.
• Document system configurations, requirements, and validation deliverables (URS, DS, DDS).
• Support infrastructure for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex OT/IT issues.
• Maintain compliance with client’s system standards and operational policies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in IT and/or OT infrastructure design, deployment, and support.
• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in some or all of the following:
• Enterprise Networks (LAN/WiFi), Cisco hardware configuration and support.
• Windows OS deployment and troubleshooting (server and workstation).
• Active Directory and domain management.
• Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V).
• Cybersecurity in OT/IT environments.
• Hardware installation and problem resolution for Dell or similar servers.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems, and applications.
• Excellent documentation abilities and attention to detail.
