Job summary

ICON plc is seeking a Principal Engineer II in Dublin for a hybrid office role. You will lead the Global Network Operations, provide technical leadership, and resolve complex network issues across enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of hands-on enterprise networking experience with Cisco ACI, Fortinet, Netscaler/F5, and SD-WAN, and will support global infrastructure projects while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

10+ years of enterprise networking experience.
Experience in 24x7 operations supporting critical infrastructure.
Hands-on expertise with Cisco ACI, Fortinet, Netscaler/F5, and SD-WAN.
Ability to lead major incidents and complex projects.

Responsibilities

Act as the highest technical escalation point for critical network incidents and complex infrastructure issues.
Lead troubleshooting across multi-vendor enterprise networks.
Perform root cause analysis for major incidents and implement permanent fixes.
Mentor Level 1/2 engineers and support incident management calls.
Ensure availability and performance of global network infrastructure.
Lead network implementation for global projects and approve high-risk changes.
Support datacenter migrations, cloud connectivity, and tech refresh initiatives.
