Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Principal Environmental Consultant to lead major infrastructure and development projects in Ireland. You’ll drive environmental inputs from inception through planning to delivery, coordinating EIAR work and leading multidisciplinary teams.

The role combines technical leadership with client engagement, bid support and mentoring of junior staff, offering hybrid working and clear progression into senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant consultancy experience, particularly in EIAR coordination and delivery.
• Strong understanding of Irish planning and environmental legislation.
• Proven experience managing large-scale environmental or infrastructure projects.
• Chartered status (or working towards it) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leading the delivery of complex environmental projects from inception through to completion.
• Taking ownership of EIAR coordination and environmental reporting.
• Managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating inputs across projects.
• Acting as a technical lead, reviewing and approving key environmental deliverables.
• Managing client relationships and engaging with stakeholders and regulators.
• Supporting bids and contributing to business development activities.
• Mentoring junior team members and supporting overall team growth.
• Driving quality, innovation and best practice across environmental assessments.
