Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG is seeking a Principal Engineer in Digital Design to lead the definition and deployment of Digital IP Design processes, contribute to IP strategy, and drive AI-based innovation within a world-class R&D team in Dublin.

You will work on infrastructure, methodology, and automation for IP concept, design, and verification, while mentoring peers and shaping the future of semiconductor design practices on high-speed/low-power targets.

Qualifications

• A University Degree within STEM (Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics).
• At least 9 years of relevant Digital Design experience from Digital IP design.
• Fluency in English (mandatory).

Your role / Key responsibilities

• As a Principal Engineer for Digital Design, you will be taking a leading role in the definition and deployment of processes and methodologies in the field of Digital IP Design.
• Contribute substantially to the IP strategy in the field of Digital Design.
• Work as part of a team responsible for infrastructure, methodology and automation for IP Concept, Design and Verification.
• Facilitate and encourage innovation across boundaries, both internal and external to the IP design organization.
• Observe and proactively act on external and internal trends.
• Coach and challenge new ideas, actively balance risks and opportunities and drive decision.
• Contribute to the evolution of traditional design practices towards the new wave of AI-based solutions for Digital Design.

Your profile / Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

• You are a highly organized professional with excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate ideas and proposals in both verbal and written formats while confidently influencing stakeholders.
• You manage your time efficiently, thrive when balancing multiple priorities, and consistently deliver results by staying focused, structured, and proactive in fast-paced environments.
• A University Degree within STEM (Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics) area.
• At least 9 years of relevant Digital Design experience from Digital IP design.
• An expert understanding of Digital Design Methodologies and flows.
• Proven ability to develop complex digital designs targeting high speed and/or low power, and an in-depth understanding of the SoC implementation flow.
• Proven ability to solve critical problems with high complexity by proactively involving expert networks, and to exploit deviations in order to support continuous improvement.
• Exposure to AI technologies and/or a strong interest in applying AI-based solutions to evolve traditional Digital Design methodologies and workflows.
• Fluency in English (mandatory).
