Job summary

Fehily Timoney and Company invites applications for a Principal Engineer to join our Energy team in Ireland, with offices in Dublin, Cork or Carlow. The successful candidate will lead civil design activities, manage projects and mentor junior staff within a multidisciplinary energy and planning division.

You will work on a broad range of renewable energy schemes, engage with clients and stakeholders, contribute to tenders, and ensure compliance with our quality and health and safety procedures

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 12 years’ post-graduate experience.
• Chartered Engineer status.
• Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
• Proven experience in engaging with external stakeholders, clients and sub-contractors.
• Adaptable, collaborative, and an effective team player.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Experience in project managing the preliminary civil design of renewable energy projects is advantageous, though not essential.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing technical reports to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Planning and overseeing design activities in close collaboration with project teams.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Contributing to the preparation of tenders and proposals.
• Providing line management and leadership to team members.
• Ensuring compliance with our quality assurance systems, management procedures, and relevant health and safety legislation.
• Coordinating effectively with colleagues and other team members across disciplines.
