Job summary

Mastercard Inc. seeks a Principal Software Engineer (Architecture) to lead architecture for the Virtual Card Management platform within Corporate Solutions. You will drive engineering excellence, scale delivery, and mentor high-performing teams across a global organization.

You will align technology strategy with business goals, design secure, scalable systems, and oversee PoC and Pilot projects, shaping Mastercard's next‑generation virtual card capabilities for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Broad software development experience across frontend and backend systems.
• Hands-on with design patterns and multiple languages.
• Experience building scalable platforms with high availability.
• Deep knowledge of Java, Spring, persistence and messaging, and testing practices.
• Strong cloud, containers and orchestration skills.
• Familiarity with cryptography and PKI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Drive collaboration across engineering, product, enterprise functions, and regional teams.
• Define technical strategy, architecture, design, and execution to meet goals.
• Lead architecture and design of software systems and applications.
• Work with product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

• Build strong relationships with technical peers across Mastercard.
