Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Director of Software Engineering to lead major cross‑department programs and deliver high‑quality software on time and within budget. You will guide technology choices, define roadmaps, and drive strategic decisions with senior stakeholders.

You will mentor engineers, implement scalable architectures, and ensure compliance with security policies while partnering with business units to achieve ROI and long‑term objectives across global platforms.

Qualifications

• Extensive understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies.
• Proven ability to embody MC Leadership Principles.
• Experience leading matrix-based project teams across distributed locations.
• Experience with 3rd party contracts and integration within enterprise platforms.
• Expertise in designing secure, scalable services and e‑commerce integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross‑department initiatives with broad scope, quantify ROI and drive strategic decisions.
• Oversee PoCs and define technology roadmaps aligned to business goals; mentor team members.
• Plan scope and iterations; manage requirements, risks and time‑to‑market.
• Provide integration design guidance for external party integrations with the rewards platform.
• Set and enforce development standards; produce artifacts across the lifecycle.
• Coordinate with legal, security and compliance teams to protect Mastercard interests.
