Job summary

Kinsale Insurance, headquartered in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Premium Accounting Assistant to support accounts receivable balances for Aspera Insurance Services, Inc. You’ll collaborate with finance and underwriting teams and work on-premises at our Richmond, VA office to ensure accurate premium processing.

The role requires 2–5 years AR experience, 2–5 years insurance experience preferred, and an Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2–5 years of accounts receivable experience.
• 2–5 years of related insurance experience preferred.
• High accuracy and efficiency in data entry.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on past-due Aspera balances with agency accounting contacts.
• Review system-generated Aspera statements before they’re sent to agents.
• Release Notices of Cancellation (NOCs) and review related payments for rescission as appropriate.
• Invoice and follow up on Aspera audit and other premium balances returned for direct collection.
• Apply Aspera and Kinsale cash receipts, and back up cash application.
