Job summary

David Mooney Furniture & Design Limited in Barntown, Co. Wexford, Ireland, is hiring a CNC Operator to set up and run computerised machines, load materials, and monitor production on a 40-hour week.

The role requires reading technical drawings and CAD designs, strict safety practices, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; experience considered. Salary range €37,544-€45,000 with potential above for experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or vocational training in machinery operations highly preferred.
• Relevant experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and CAD designs.
• Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and machine safety protocols; proper use of PPE; understanding of lockout/tagout; maintain clean, organized work environment.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates computerised CNC machines, loading materials and tools and running pre-programmed instructions.
• Continuously monitors the machine to ensure smooth operation and inspects finished parts with measuring tools to verify specifications.
• Performs routine maintenance (cleaning, tool changes) and troubleshoots operational issues while maintaining production records.
