Job summary

WESTMAC LABOUR LIMITED is seeking a CNC Operator to join our workshop in Mayo, Ireland. The successful candidate will set up and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machinery, read technical drawings, and produce timber and joinery components to production specs.

Responsibilities include loading materials, selecting tooling, monitoring machines, inspecting parts with calipers and gauges, and maintaining a safe, clean work area in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience operating CNC machinery.
• Ability to read and follow basic technical drawings.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
• Basic English sufficient to understand work and safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machinery to cut, shape, route and machine timber and other materials according to production requirements.
• Read and follow technical drawings, specifications and production instructions.
• Load materials, set datum points, select appropriate tooling and adjust machine settings as required.
• Monitor CNC machinery during operation and make adjustments to maintain accurate and consistent production.
• Inspect finished components using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Identify machining or tooling issues and report technical problems to the supervisor or team leader.
• Carry out routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance of CNC machinery and associated equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organised working area and follow health and safety, PPE requirements.
• Work effectively as part of the production team and assist with other reasonable production duties when required.
