Location - Dublin

Salary - 100,000 - 130,000Euros

Take the lead on some of the most exciting projects in the data centre sector.

We're looking for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join a growing construction consultancy, working with leading clients on large-scale data centre and mission-critical developments.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping projects from the earliest stages, bringing together design, commercial and construction teams to develop the strategies that turn complex schemes into successful projects.

If you enjoy working at the intersection of design, cost, programme and delivery, this role offers the chance to make a real impact in one of construction's fastest-growing sectors.

The Role

You'll lead the pre-construction process on major data centre projects, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to establish robust budgets, programmes, procurement strategies and delivery plans before projects move to site.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading pre-construction activities from feasibility and concept design through to procurement and contract award.
  • Developing project delivery strategies, procurement plans and construction packaging approaches.
  • Coordinating design teams across architectural, structural, MEP and specialist disciplines.
  • Driving design reviews, buildability assessments and value engineering to optimise cost, programme and quality.
  • Working with cost management teams to develop and manage budgets, cost plans and estimates.
  • Establishing realistic programmes, managing critical paths and identifying long-lead equipment such as generators, UPS systems, switchgear and cooling plant.
  • Managing tender processes, contractor evaluations and procurement recommendations.
  • Supporting planning applications, utility infrastructure requirements and statutory approvals.
  • Identifying project risks and ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Keeping clients and senior stakeholders informed, ensuring a coordinated handover into construction.
About You

You'll be an experienced construction professional with a strong background in pre-construction, design management or project delivery on complex, MEP-intensive developments.

You'll ideally bring:

  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Around eight or more years' construction experience, including at least three years in pre-construction or design management.
  • Experience delivering data centre, mission-critical or similarly complex infrastructure projects.
  • A strong understanding of procurement strategies, tendering and construction contracts, including FIDIC or equivalent forms.
  • Knowledge of critical power, cooling systems, resilience requirements and data centre commissioning.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance cost, programme, risk and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead client meetings and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with planning and project collaboration tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, BIM/Revit, Procore or Aconex.

A relevant professional qualification, such as MCIOB, RICS, SCSI or CIPS, would be advantageous.
