Job summary

Traffit is seeking an experienced Project Design Manager in Dublin to lead multidisciplinary design delivery for major data centre and mission-critical projects. You will coordinate electrical, mechanical, CSA, security, monitoring and fire-protection disciplines, ensuring designs are compliant, buildable and aligned with the programme.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in engineering, design management or technical programme management.
• Track record on data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Experience leading large Design & Build or Design–Bid–Build projects.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with local building regulations.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills.

We are looking for an experienced Project Design Manager to lead the multidisciplinary design delivery of major data centre and mission-critical projects.

This is a senior position for someone who can coordinate engineering teams, manage technical risk and ensure complex designs move efficiently from concept through construction and commissioning.

The Role

As Project Design Manager, you will take ownership of design coordination across electrical, mechanical, CSA, security, monitoring and fire-protection disciplines.

You will work closely with engineering teams, clients, consultants, contractors and commercial stakeholders to ensure designs are compliant, buildable, commercially sound and delivered in line with the project programme.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification and experience.
• Strong experience in engineering, design management or technical programme management.
• A successful track record on data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Experience leading large Design & Build or Design–Bid–Build projects.
• Strong understanding of advanced electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
• Knowledge of security, monitoring and fire-detection or suppression systems.
• Experience managing cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commercial awareness and confidence supporting contract and scope negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of design and construction processes, terminology and contracts.
• Familiarity with local building regulations and jurisdictional requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with AutoCAD, Revit or Navisworks.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to remain organised and decisive within a fast-paced project environment.
