Job description

A landmark building for the 21st century, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is synonymous with spectacular performance art, outstanding architecture, and a commitment to excellence in live entertainment.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and organised PR Executive to join our award-winning PR & Marketing team, supporting the Senior PR Manager in delivering focused, high-impact publicity campaigns across the BGET show calendar.

This is a newly created role, ideal for a candidate looking to build their PR career within a fast-paced, high-profile entertainment environment. The PR Executive will work closely with the Senior PR Manager to help deliver an agreed set of publicity targets for each production, with an emphasis on quality coverage rather than volume.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior PR Manager in planning and delivering PR campaigns for each production, working towards agreed publicity targets.
  • Research, draft and distribute press releases, statements, feature pitches and other PR material under the guidance of the Senior PR Manager.
  • Build, maintain and grow relationships with regional and trade media, and support relationships with national outlets.
  • Assist with researching and pitching story angles and ideas to secure media coverage.
  • Coordinate logistics for press days, photo calls, opening nights and press trips, including talent and media liaison on the day.
  • Send and organise media/VIP ticketing for opening nights, liaising with the Box Office to manage guest lists and allocations.
  • Identify digital PR opportunities and help shape how PR stories and campaigns can be leveraged through social and digital channels, working closely with the Digital & Social Media Manager.
  • Monitor and log media coverage for each production, compiling reports against agreed publicity targets.
  • Support the Senior PR Manager with promotions strategy and event planning for productions.
  • Maintain and update the shared press and PR folder, including media lists, images, press releases and coverage archives.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating BGET's PR-related content across the website and social channels, working closely with the Marketing and Digital teams.
  • Support general administrative tasks for the PR function, including scheduling, budgeting support and correspondence.
  • Carry out other duties as may reasonably arise.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 1-3 years' experience in a PR, communications or media role.
  • Excellent written English with an ability to write accurate, engaging and well-structured copy.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • An interest in building a network of media contacts across broadcast, print and online.
  • A passion for PR and the Arts/Entertainment industry.
  • Relevant Third Level Qualification or equivalent.
  • Confident, working knowledge of Canva, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Entertainment industry experience an advantage.
