Job summary

RED, a Tractebel company, is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to join our Dublin or Cork office. You will design MV/HV topologies, substations and protection schemes for data centres and industrial facilities, liaising with clients and utilities across diverse projects.

The role requires 4-5 years’ experience, fluent English, and a valid Irish driving licence. We offer hybrid working, training sponsorship, and a collaborative global M&E environment.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years’ experience as a power systems engineer with listed duties.
• Chartership in process or obtained is advantageous.
• Full Irish driving licence required.
• Fluent in English and eligible to work in Ireland.
• Proficient with Dialux, Amtech, Etap and Eracs Cdegs.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in MV and HV topology design and equipment selection.
• Discuss pros/cons of switchgear types and RMU usage.
• Interact with Utility and liaison with project stakeholders.
• Design substations and MV/HV routes and layouts.
• Prepare BOQs and equipment lists for power systems.
• Ensure QA/QC across projects and deliver to schedule.
• Travel to client sites for meetings and surveys.
